Emergency crews are keeping a close watch on the Southcross Natural Gas Processing Plant following a large fire.
The plant is located just north of Gregory.
According to authorities Tuesday evening a gas valve at the plant malfunctioned causing a fire.
Flames could be seen for miles.
Five area firefighter departments were called out to the scene.
Three workers were trapped but managed to escape without being hurt.
Gas was shut down at the plant, while the fire was allowed to burn itself out.
The plant processes natural gas for customers .
FM136 near the Gregory area will be closed until Wednesday.
Damage to the plant is unknown at the hour.
